Candle Safety & Tips
Candle Care Tips for the Best Experience
The first time you burn your candle, allow it to burn long enough to create a full melt pool (the liquid wax should reach the edges of the container). This ensures an even burn and prevents tunneling (wax only burning in the middle, leaving wax around the edges).
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always extinguish candles when leaving a room or going to sleep.
Keep candles out of reach of children and pets. Candles should be placed in a secure area where they can’t be knocked over or accessed by curious hands or paws.
Burn candles on a heat-resistant surface. Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from anything flammable such as curtains, paper, or clothing.
Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each use. A long wick can cause excessive flickering, uneven burning, or soot. Trim your wick to about 1/4 inch before each burn to promote a safer, cleaner burn.
Keep candles away from drafts. Avoid placing candles in areas with drafts, as wind or air movement can cause uneven burning or an uncontrolled flame.
Avoid burning candles for too long. Don’t burn your candles for more than 4 hours at a time. This ensures a controlled burn and prevents the container from becoming too hot.
Always extinguish a candle with care. Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame instead of blowing it out. This prevents hot wax from splattering and helps preserve the life of the candle.
Store candles in a cool, dry place. Store unused candles away from heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent the wax from melting or the fragrance from fading.
Never move a burning candle. Once a candle is lit, never attempt to move it. Allow it to cool completely before relocating it..
For smaller rooms, a small candle may be sufficient, while larger spaces benefit from a larger candle or multiple candles. The bigger the space, the more scent you'll need.
Candles are not only for lighting—they’re also beautiful decorative pieces! Arrange them on trays with other home accents like flowers, stones, or crystals, and pair them with stylish candle holders for added flair.
Discontinue use when the candle is about 1 inch from the bottom. Always stop using a candle when there’s about 1 inch of wax left in the container to avoid damaging the surface below or causing the candle holder to overheat.
